Konica Minolta Digital Camera DiMAGE Z6 - Up Close And Affordable With Minolta

If you want an affordable Konica Minolta digital camera with a full set of features - and which actually feels like an SLR - the DiMAGE Z6 will live up to your expectations!

The Konica Minolta Digital Camera DiMage Z6 retains most of the good features and specifications of its predecessor, the Z5, and increases the available megapixels to 6.

However, there is one drawback in the Konica Minolta Digital Camera DiMage Z6 to be mentioned right from the start: While comparable prosumer cameras are upgrading their movie feature set, it is considered somewhat incomprehensible that Minolta has decided to downgrade the movie standard to 320 x 240 (15/30 fps)! On the plus side, the camera features a night capture movie mode.

Be that as it may (it is primarily a still camera and not a video camera!), the Konica Minolta Digital Camera DiMage Z6 continues to use the popular 12X zoom lens with the Anti-Shake image stabilization, which seems to work very effectively. This is the same image stabilization system as that used in the top-of-the-line Maxxum 7D digital SLR. There are some reports though of softer images with the zoom fully extended.

The Konica Minolta Digital Camera DiMAGE has a focal range of 35mm to 420mm (35mm equivalent), which provides an excellent telephoto reach. Unfortunately there is no Auto Focus illuminator available.

You also won't be disappointed by its close-up possibilities. In Macro or Super Macro mode you can get the lens of the Konica Minolta Digital Camera DiMAGE Z6 as close as 1cm from the subject.

And while on the subject of modes, this Minolta offers a number of pre-set program modes which will help many a photographer out in a tricky moment: Portrait, Sports Action, Landscape, Sunset, Night Portrait, and more.

The Konica Minolta Digital Camera DiMAGE Z6 uses four widely available AA Alkaline batteries that keeps the camera running for up to approximately 240 shots. It can also use high-capacity rechargeable Ni-MH batteries for up to approximately 420 shots.

Although this particular Konica Minolta digital camera needs about 3 seconds to extend its zoom lens, it is quite fast when it comes to continuous shooting, and at high resolution, you might get up to 16 images at a rate of 1.8fps. This is better than some in its class.

The Konica Minolta Digital Camera DiMAGE Z6 uses the JPEG file format. It features Secure Digital memory, and a 16 MB SD card is supplied. Another big plus for this camera is that an external flash hot-shoe is available.

While some photographers might take issue with aspects of its image quality. the DiMAGE Z6 has enough in its feature-set to keep many enthusiasts happy. In fact, with its somewhat daring and definitely innovative styling, it is hard not to notice this Konica Minolta digital camera!

Learn Digital Photography - Choosing a Lens For a Digital SLR

Every digital camera in the consumer price range comes with an 18-55mm lens unless it is a special bundle with another lens. The lens that you get with it is what we call a kit lens and has the quality of a very ordinary lens. It will give you good images but not great. The discussion continues as to whether it is of any use at all beyond snapshots. So what should we do when buying a lens?

Go to the photo forums and you will find a common thread that says buy the best glass that you can and then add a camera with the rest of the money. Glass is of course slang for a lens. If you get a good lens it will last you for life. It is the cameras that need upgrading. Glass also retains its value much longer than a camera.

1. Don't buy a kit

That means when buying your camera don't take it with a lens kit. Choose a body then decide on what lens you would like and not what the manufacturer would like you to have. The kit lens is designed to go with a budget camera in order to sell the cameras and not give you a great lens. All the forums will tell you that it's not made of good quality glass.

2. Buy a lens that will suit your needs

Find out what type of photography will dominate your photos, that is, if you know so soon in you photography journey. If you like landscapes then get something in the 12-20mm or 17-40mm range of zooms. If you're into wildlife then a zoom in the 100-400mm range would be important to you. Think long term when buying a lens.

3. Buy the best quality you can afford

This is the same old story that newbies are faced with. They say that what they have is sufficient for their needs, until they use a quality lens. There is no comparison. The images are of a very high quality. Don't go for a bigger camera, better camera with all the features and then a lens that does nothing for the camera. A budget camera with a pro lens is better than a pro camera with a budget lens.

The lens issue will continue for as long as there are amateurs buying new cameras. The rest of us who have purchased quality lenses know beyond a shadow of a doubt the route to go. We have experienced the pleasure of viewing an image shot with good quality glass. No amateur should buy a camera without knowing what quality glass looks like and the images it reproduces.

The decision to buy the right lens is a big one and can only be made once you have all the facts. Of course the price factor is a big one but surely if there is a reason to squeeze some extra bucks out it should be for a better lens and not a better camera.

Which Digital Camera Should I Buy Today?

If you are thinking, which digital camera should I buy, you will want to do some research and learn about the different types of cameras. There are SLR cameras, point and shoot cameras, slim compact cameras, pocket size cameras and not so compact cameras. These facts alone can be overbearing. That is why online websites exist to help you see what other people are saying about the many different digital cameras. It is much easier to choose a camera online than it is to go to a retail store. Online stores and consumer websites have reviews, specifications, comparisons and high and low prices of the cameras.

Ask yourself, which digital camera should I buy? You would probably have no idea. That is why you need to compare the different cameras from the different groups. If you are looking for a SLR digital camera, you could compare the different cameras in that group from the different manufacturers. If you want a point and shoot camera, you could do the same and so forth. The thing to keep in mind is the user reviews. Just because a camera sounds impressive, users might not rate it highly. Never buy a digital camera without comparing and reading reviews.

You will want to ask yourself, which digital camera should I buy for underwater pictures, fast action shots or even night settings. There are many different cameras for different situations. If you need a camera for nighttime shooting, you would not buy a camera that has bad reviews for low light settings. If you want to take professional pictures of weddings for instance, you would not buy a point and shoot camera with few functions. Making the right choice is important when buying your digital camera. Check facts, prices, reviews and specifications before deciding on a digital camera.

How to Choose a Correct Compact Digital Camera?

Choosing a suitable and high quality digital camera can be a daunting and overwhelming task. There are hundreds of models to choose from and many of them are from very reputable companies. If you are not careful, you may end up buying a camera that is too expensive but does not cater to your lifestyle needs or buying a camera that is of poor quality, or both. I am going to show you several tips that may hopefully help you narrow your focus on your choice of cameras. After reading this article, you will find that choosing a suitable camera may not be be so hard after all.

First and foremost is to decide on a brand of camera that you want to choose. My personal favorites are Canon and Nikon and you may have your own preferences. Ask your professional photographers on any recommendations. Focusing on one brand can reduce drastically the number of choices of brands that you have to choose.

Now one of the biggest misconception that I often come across is that the myth that the bigger the pixels, the better the camera. That may not be necessarily true. The best advice is to find one that suits your needs rather than going to get the highest pixel. Ask yourself what type of photographer are you. If you are just a casual photographer takes pictures mainly for leisure pictures, then I 10 mega pixel should be good enough.

However, take note that higher pixel does not equate to higher quality pictures. How well the pictures is taken still depend mainly on photographer's skill. It still depends on his or her knowledge of the of the environment and know what angle to take. There are still professional photographers out there that uses the old pin hole cameras and still take great pictures with it.

Now you need to be aware of certain features that I think every high quality camera should have. First, having a face detection feature is a highly recommended since it can help you take better pictures of you and your friends. Image stabilization feature is good for who don't have a good grip of the camera and take away the need for a tripod. There has to be at least 3x zooming feature judging from today standard.

In conclusion, the best type of camera will be the one that suit your type of preferences rather than going for an high end and expensive model. Okay, now that you have a clearer idea on what type of digital camera you want, now it's the time to choose one and take some beautiful pictures.

Shutter Speeds on Digital Cameras

Camera shutter is a very important topic in photography because of camera shutter you can adjust your shutter speed which contributes to even more creative shots to your photography composition.

Camera shutter's analogy is like a when a director cuts a scene in an ongoing acts, its like (insert a movie title here) scene 1 take 1, then after the scene they will cut, and that scene in photography is your image. its like that but in photography your actor is the light.in photography, shutter plays a vital role in photography because it is the time where you are gathering the amount of light to meet your perfect or own artistic exposure.

Camera shutter is inside the camera, if you would remove the lens in your SLR camera, you can see the shutter, it is like a curtain closing from above and below, just imagine a theater show closing from above but having the light as the actors in the theater show. and it is a mechanical part of the camera where you can set your shutter speed,( shutter speed will be tackled on my next topic or article), in canon DSLR camera shutter set it is called TV (time value) but is nikon DSLR cameras it is called shutter speed.

When selling your camera, buyers will make you specify something called shutter count. shutter count is the number on how many shots you have made using your camera, sellers should specify this inorder for the buyer to know when a camera is a fresh and in pristine condition. anyway there are lot of photography tutorial website there, you can verify the things i said here.

Digital Photography Basics - 7 Tips to Get the Most of Your Digital Camera

1. What camera to buy? In general you'll want a digital camera that has at least 4 mega pixel resolution and a 3x optical zoom. You can go digital SLR camera if you budget allows it. With a digital SLR camera you'll have more flexibility as you can change the lens to suit the type of photography you want to take. For landscapes you'll use a wide-angle and for portraits you'll prefer a telephoto lens. Four mega-pixel resolution is now a minimum requirement if you would like to submit your photos to microstock photography site for sale.

2. Prefer optical zoom to digital zoom. Optical zoom only uses the capacity of the actual optics in the lens to capture the scene of your photos. Digital zoom will "create" extra pixels based on existing ones to fill and enlarge your photos. Your photos will lose in quality when digital zoom is used.

3. Use appropriate Scene Modes. Most of today's compact cameras have what is called "Scene Modes". Each Scene Mode corresponds to a type of photography like portrait, landscape, sport. It's better to use the scene mode accordingly to the kind of photos you want to take. If you take portrait shots then set the camera on portrait mode. In this mode the camera will use a larger aperture. As a result your subject will be in focus and standout from a blur background. If you take photos of children in movement then prefer sport mode whereby the camera will use higher shutter speed so that the subject will be sharp on the photo.

4. Use a tripod. I find that compact cameras tend to use a pretty low shutter speed. Therefore your photos might be a bit out of focus or blurry because of handshake movements while the photo is taken. Using a tripod will ensure you get perfect handshake-free shots. With a tripod you'll be able to experiment night-shot photos as well.

5. Adjust White Balance. If your camera allows you to change the white balance setting then you would want to take advantage of that. As an example setting white balance on "cloudy" on a cloudy day will produce warmer tone pictures.

6. Back-fill or fill-in flash. Don't forget to use the embedded flash when you take photos of scene that has strong contrast, e.g. outdoor scenes around midday on a sunny day. As a rule of thumb try to have the sun in your back when you take a picture rather than in front of you.

7. Prefer natural light. Plan to take your photos when there is not too strong contrast. Shooting early in the morning or around end of the afternoon and you'll have a softer light situation to deal with than at midday.

A great review by 93 Studios: ninetythrees.com Gone I like this one for what it never says. If that isnt too cryptic then Im glad you joined me for this review. Gone is a story of a woman who discovers that the same friends who came out to mourn her sisters suicide might, in fact, be responsible for it. Its a story about a diary that tells her the dark secrets that her sister hid away until it was too much to bare. More generally, its a story about pain that never gives a single hint as to its source. Thats the thing about this film, you know that most of the cast are really bad people but you dont know why. No one really does anything particularly upsetting either, but the implication is that each of them had a hand in the sisters suicide. Its dark, confusing and leaves you with more questions than answers. It manages to do all of this while remaining coherent, who can really ask for more ...
